Who is at risk for colorectal cancer?

Everyone can get colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is most often found in people 50 years of age or older. Risk increases with age. Individuals with certain inherited disorders may also be at risk. Lifestyle factors such as lack of regular physical activity, a poor diet, being overweight or obese, alcohol consumption, and tobacco use increase risk.
